Allison Woods Outdoor Learning Center
Does your child love the outdoors?
Does your child need to get outdoors more?
Either way, forest School is a great opportunity to get your children to "touch grass" if they need to get outdoors more or to give them the outdoor time they desire and help foster their love of the outdoors. Students will guide their own learning with an open ended learning style classroom in the forest.
Younger students will start with open ended creative play sessions fostering independence, creativity and interpersonal skills. As they show readiness and desire, they can progress into learning skills such as fire safety and building, shelter building, basic tool work such as knife skills. Each child works at their own pace and on skills they're interested in.
We are currently hosting all age groups together on the 3rd Monday of each month. As enrollment increases, we may separate age groups.
This is a drop-off program. Parents do not need to stay.
Forest School is rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in cases of thunderstorms or extreme winds for safety. Students should have clothing appropriate for being in the weather including but not limited to layered clothing, waterproof boots and rain gear, hats, mittens or gloves for cold weather, etc.
